Uploading resources

Jul 13, 2012 at 13:56

Hello,

We've been uploading some resources and every time we use the download button we go to the page

that reads:

Resource Access Restricted

Access to the selected resource is restricted.

Please contact the resource maintainer for information on how to obtain a copy of this resource.

Is there a way to make the resources available to registred users or just a specific type of users or all users?

Best regards,

Sérgio Castro

    Dear Sérgio Castro,

in general, a resource can only be downloaded by registered users. It can be downloaded freely if it has a free license, such as “BSD”, “Creative Commons” or “AGPL”. In most other cases you’ll see a message similar to the one you have cited.

There is a special case for “META-SHARE Commons” licenses: resources with this license may also be downloaded by users who are META-SHARE Full Members. If you need more information on this, then please let me know.

In the next major META-SHARE release, access management will be a lot better documented and hopefully easier to manage.

    Best regards,
