    Dear Mohamed Aly,

I apologize for the delayed answer – for some reason we received no email notification that a new question was posted!

In relation to your question, and in order for you to get the appropriate credentials for uploading the resources (there are diferent procedures), we would need to know the following

    -          Are you or your organization (if you are affiliated to one) already members of META-SHARE?

    -          Would you like to upload the resources as a person rather than an organisation?

    -     Have you the rights on the resources?

Depending on the case, we will advise you accordingly!

    Kind regards,

    Maria

    for the META-SHARE team

    Dear Maria

    - I don't think my organizaiton (Cairo University, Egypt) is a member of Meta-Share

    - I would like to upload it as a person

    - I have the rights on the resources, the dataset is already on my personal homepage and was published in ACL 2013 http://www.mohamedaly.info/datasets/labr

    Thanks a lot.

    Dear Maria,

Will there be any answer posted for this question?  I and others at my research lab are also interested in contributing lingustic resources to META-SHARE, but we can't find any instructions for how to do so.

    Sincerely,

    Tristan Miller

    Dear Mohamed Aly and Tristan,

    Apologies for the delayed reply.

The steps to follow in order to deposit resources you own to META-SHARE as an individual (and not as an organization) are:

    1. Please fill in the necessary information of the Depositor's Agreement (DA), available at http://www.meta-net.eu/meta-share/meta-share-licenses/META-SHARE%20Depositors%20Agreement_v1.0.pdf. This Agreement is signed between the Depositor and the Repository that will host the resources of the Depositor.

What you actually need to provide in the DA is:

              a. your details in section 2.1, on page 1.

              b. the names of the resource(s) you will be sharing in Appendix I and the respective license(s) in Appendix II.  If you have multiple resources, please provide a table with two columns <Resource Name>, <License Name>.

              c. you will need to sign this document as a Depositor.

For your convenience, we can send you by email an editable version of the DA, with the ILSP repository information filled in (section 2.2). Please fill in your information in this version and provide us with a scanned copy preferably in pdf.

    2. Regarding licenses, please note that we recommend:

    a.   Creative Commons licenses (a tabular overview available at http://www.meta-net.eu/meta-share/meta-share-licenses/Tabular%20presentation%20of%20the%20main%20features%20of%20CC%20Licences.pdf)

    b.   META-SHARE No Redistribution licenses (a tabular overview available at http://www.meta-net.eu/meta-share/meta-share-licenses/Tabular%20Presentation%20of%20No%20redistribution%20Licences.pdf).

Kindly note that we are trying to simplify the licensing procedures and therefore upgrade licenses to the latest version. This being said, we will soon migrate to CC 4.0 (although now we are still at CC 3.0).

If you have any questions regarding licensing, do not hesitate to contact us and, together with our legal experts, we will try to provide advice as to the optimal solution for your case.

    3. Last, please register yourself as a user at a META-SHARE node. For example, if you want to register at the ILSP META-SHARE node, go to http://metashare.ilsp.gr:8080/accounts/create/.

In tandem we will create an Editor Group (under whatever name you tell us) to which you will belong after having registered. This Editor Group will have only one member (yourself) and is necessary in order to safeguard that you (and only you) have the right to update your records.

In this way you can document your resources using the META-SHARE metadata editor. Our metadata experts are ready to help you in this process, should you have questions or encounter any problems. In a first step, the mandatory elements (quite a few) need to be filled in. Your documentation (metadata) can be enriched/updated at any time.

Please let us know if this is process is clear to you and do not hesitate to ask any questions that may arise.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Maria Gavrilidou

on behalf of the ILSP META-SHARE Node
