FAQ: Using the META-SHARE Tool

  How do I login to META-SHARE?

  A

  o  Click the “Login” button at the top right of the home page.

  o  Fill in the “User Authentication” form with Username and Password.

  o  Click the “Login” button.

  o  At the end of the working session, you can log out by clicking on the “Logout” button at the top right of the home page.

  o  If you forget your password, the system offers the possibility to retrieve it:

  o  Click on “Forgot pass?" 

  o  Fill in your Username and click the “reset pass" button.

  o  The system generates a new password and emails it to the address you used when registering.

  How do I change my user profile?

  A

  In order to change the details stated in your User Profile, you should contact the META-SHARE Technical Helpdesk at helpdesk-technical@meta-share.eu.

  Do I have to sign any document in order to use the META-SHARE tool?

  A

  By using META-SHARE Services, you agree to the terms listed in the Terms of Service document (at the bottom of each page of the tool). There are two versions of this document:
  

  If you HAVE registered to META-SHARE, you have to comply with the Terms of Service for registered users.

  If you HAVE NOT registered to META-SHARE, you have to comply with the Terms of Service for unregistered users.

  I want to upload descriptions of resources without using the META-SHARE application interface. Is there a way to do this?

  A

  Yes, the META-SHARE application offers you the option to not use the editor: after logging in to the application, please go to Manage Resources > Upload new resource description(s). 

  You can upload a single resource description in XML format, or many resource descriptions in a ZIP file containing XML files. Please make sure the XML files are schema-valid before proceeding.
